Get to know him in July. He was the bestman when I was the bridesmaid for my bestfriend's wedding. After the wedding, we kept in touch as a friend. Met him again in August during the groom's wedding reception. He'd call from time to time, or chat sometime, to ask how my day was or shared some of our life stories. Did try to matchmake him with another single lady friend of mine too, but it didn't work. Last month he called, telling me that he already got a better job, reporting January. He sounded so happy at that time. Little that I know it'd be our last conversation.

Last week, he was admitted to the hospital. According to my bestfriend, whose husband is his bestfriend, doctor found blood clot in his brain. And early this morning, at 2am, I got a text message from my bestfriend telling me that he passed away around 1.40am due to heart failure. The shocking news made me awake and ponder about life and people around me. How unexpected life could be. We'll never know what will happen to us in the future.

So, try to do good thing as much as possible, appreciate people around you and don't forget to tell/show them that you care/love them as we might not be able to do that when they're no longer here with us.

Al-Fatihah buat Muhammad Zafuan. Semoga roh dicucuri rahmat.

p/s: Latest news I got was that he suffered from meningitis, brain inflammation caused by viral infection. Touch the wood!

Last week, around this time, I was enjoying my Aidiladha vacation with my family at Sematan Palm Beach Resort. And yes, that was my first time there after almost 12 years residing in Kuching. What a shame! But it was worth the 1 1/2 hour drive coz we were greeted with a long wide beach (and surprisingly good weather, despite the bad weather forecast).

Please enjoy the photos first as I will update about it later.

Thank you Allah that my company is taking the public holiday on Monday (Kedah's public holiday for Aidiladha is 2 days)

Thank you Allah that I can still afford my RM300++ return flight to Kuching.

Thank you Allah that my work load is still within my control that I won't have to worry much during holiday.

Thank you Allah that my flight was OK and I landed safely in Kuching this evening.

Thank you Allah that our family is complete and healthy to celebrate Aidiladha together once again.

Thank you Allah for everything. :)

p/s : Will be occupied with lots of agenda. Have fun y'all

I received an email on Saturday that pissed me off. But I was trying to act cool that time so I tried to forget about it and thought that I will not mention anything about it here. But when I read the email again this morning, and told my cubemate, she couldn't agree more with me. The sender is a total crap.

But before I could tell you what the content of the email is, let me tell you a brief story on how all this started.

My cubemate found a website that is offering a chocolate making class nearby Kulim. So we decided to give it a try, but before that we need to find out how much does it cost. I emailed the owner of the website (she's also the class instructor) asking about the fee. Is it per pax or per class.

After a few days, the owner replied that the fee is RM 250, but she did not mention whether it is per pax or per class. Here's what exactly she wrote :

Amy dari mana? Kelas saya di Desa Aman, Padang Serai Kedah. Sorry saya tertinggal maklumat yuran n lokasi, web dah baiki. Yuran rm250 termasuk nota & semua bahan coklat, u hanya perlu bawa bekas kosong utk bawa balik minima 50biji coklat. U akan buat sendiri bukan tengok saya buat demo. Dlm kelas ni saya akan ajar 6 jenis coklat n ajar cara nak modify basic resipi.
Interesting..huh. So, my first assumption was RM 250 per class since she only takes maximum 2 person in 1 class. RM 125 is not so bad, I thought. But to be sure, I sent her another email, just to make sure that RM 250 is per class fee amount :
Kalau saya nak booking kelas utk sabtu 9 januari boleh ke?
Untuk 2 orang, maknanya sorang byr RM 250/2 la kan?
And that's when she replied me with that bloody email. Did I sound so desperate that she replied me like this :
Sorry kalau saya salah faham maksud u (Untuk 2 orang, maknanya sorang byr RM 250/2 la kan?).Saya charge utk setiap peserta rm 250. Kalau rasa mahal mungkin u carilah tempat lain. Maaf tiada sediakan discount.
Hellloooooo akak, if you happen to stumble upon my blog 1 day, I can still afford laa RM 250 per person. All I did was asking for confirmation. What about the "Kalau rasa mahal mungkin u carilah tempat lain"(if you think that it's expensive...go and find another place) and also "Maaf tiada sediakan discount"(Sorry, no discount). Bunyi nye sungguh kurang ajarrrr sopan....which is also confirmed by my cubemate. Tak boleh reply elok sikit ke?

So?? Do you still want to be taught by someone who sounds like this...hmmm, lu pikir la sendiri!!

2012 is the year that our MRSM batch SPM 99 plan to have a reunion.

But 2012 is also a movie about the end of the world, that I went to watch recently with my colleagues. We had been planning to watch it since the 1st day of its screening but seats were all fully-booked for the first few days. Finally, we managed to get 6 seats for 10pm slot at TGV Perda on Wednesday. And oh yeah, it was full house.

For a 2 hours 30 minutes film, I give it 3.5 stars. The whole film was full of CGI and special effects of biggest tsunami, enormous earth quakes here and there, volcano eruptions and etc that you won't have time to get sleepy. But still we managed to find a few hiccups here and there. For example when John Cusack and his family were trying to get out of town by flying on the small plane, they were flying upwards and it seems that the skyscrapers were so high that even when the flew higher, those buildings look forever tall, as if they're flying from the center of the earth. Go watch it yourself and try to find some of the unexplicable scenes. If you want to judge on the storyline, for a person of faith like me, I'd have to say the story is nonsense. End of day is uncomparable with what we saw on that film. And if God want it to be tomorrow, then tomorrow will it be. But if you don't really care about the story and you just want to have a pleasure of watching lots of explosions and other special effects, then I recommend you to go and watch this movie.

Me, didn't regret watching it after all I only paid RM 5 for it :)

A visit to see a newborn baby is a visit not to be missed. Coz nak tunggu dapat baby sendiri macam lambat je lagi...hikhik...

5 cars convoyed from Kulim to Bertam yesterday to visit an ex-colleague of ours, Hani, who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Haifa Huda, aged 3 weeks old. Riuh-rendah rumah si Hani, ye la colleagues yang dah kawen masing2 bawak family, siap compare2 anak lagi, buat demo baby pouch laa, exchanging their stories on their delivery experiences laa....huhu. So, sape2 yang unmarried lagi tu takde modal la nak share ape.

So what we can do is.....

.....main dukung2 and pass2 baby Haifa

Congrats once again Hani & Hailmy on your newborn baby!

So when customer complains, just listen, swallow everything and act like customer is always right (eventhough they are not always).

There's negative aura in the department at the moment, particularly today. Almost everyone is unhappy with something...so unhappy that we did not have our regular tea-time moment at 5pm.

Customer is not happy with what we've done. Bosses are not happy because the customer complained. Sub-ordinates are not happy because bosses are trying to find who to put the blame on. Plus, so many other issues from all sorts of aspects...

But I guess there is no other way than to ...

FACE IT AND DEAL WITH IT COZ THAT'S WHAT WE CALL LIFE

My eyes were all shimmering when my colleague suggested that we have dinner at "nasi minyak depan kuil" (that's how they introduced it to me in the first place) on Friday evening. The thought of it was enough to make me drooled. But, the Friday night dinner plan was cancelled at the last minute since it rained cats and dogs and we did not want to be frustrated if we go all the way to Penang only to find out the stall is closed (yup..it's an open air stall ).

So yesterday, we had a shopping outing in Penang. And guess where we had dinner?! At the "nasi minyak depan kuil" of course!! Well, the real name is actually Nasi Dalca Rahim. And it IS in front of a temple in Queen street, not too far from the famous Kassim Mustapha(KM) restaurant, which is also selling nasi dalca. Still don't have any idea what nasi dalca looks like...tengok la gambar2 kat bawah tu...boleh terlioqqq woo...hehee....

This is a plate of nasi dalca, with boiled egg, sambal kelapa (or sambal nyioq as it is pronounced with the Northern slang), chicken curry and dalca. Yummy!!

A table full of foods for 5 people and it only costs us RM42.

This is the stall! In front of a temple.

Sebelum makan, ambik gambar dulu!

Dan satu lagi!

If you have tried nasi dalca from KM before, you might want to try this one too. Then you'll be able to compare. I still prefer Nasi Dalca Rahim as KM is always crowded with people, and nasi dalca Rahim taste less heavy than KM's. And mind you, eventhough it's a roadside stall, it is surprisingly clean with no peculiar smell.

Want to try but don't know where it is, you can refer to the map below, which I found in Foodpoi.

And another view picture taken from Foodpoi.

Rasa sekali mesti mau pekena lagi satu!!!
